Picture of the Month

After years of chasing the bad guys on the other side of the pond in BMWs, it was high time the Bobbies did so in a proper British Car. Thank Goodness that time has come!

Joke of the month

We LBC and Jaguar owners are often criticized for spending way too much on restoring or lovely old cars--but for good reason! At least British Cars have the history, panache, and flair that make them worthy of keeping.

A recent auction from Ebay shows that the world has truely cone mad, as the following bloke from Canada is either stupid, mentally deranged, crazy, deranged, and/or living in a fantasy world. Read on about his quest to save--what he considers-- an historical piece of "automotive art" (?!?!!!)

This a is one-of-a-kind Honda Civic CVCC...for the true affecionado...never will it be repeated...I bought this car in very rough shape on eBay...it has undergone a very slow and expensive frame-off restoration at The Guild of Automotive Restorers in Bradford, Ontario (see http://www.guildclassiccars.com/1977_honda_civic_1292/index.html for a photo-essay of the restoration)

Unlike with American classics...it is virtually impossible to get replacement parts...this car was restored with parts from Honda Headquarters in Tokyo (windshield, bumpers, steering wheel, emblems, side glass, seals...literally the last pieces left in Honda's central facility) or pieces were fabricated by The Guild (dashboard, fenders, wheels).

Engine totally rebuilt by Hawkestone Automotive...5 speed transmission also rebuilt. Immaculate new interior...Barkey Custom Upholstery...with careful attention to historical details.

Recently featured on the cover of Old Autos Newspaper (November 2009).

This car is kept in my heated indoor facility...and driven only on sunny, clear days...for a maximum of 5 km. Less than 1000 km since restoration.

Over $50K has been spent on this restoration...it can never be repeated...the parts no longer exist.

A car for the true affecionado.
