The Lyons Roar

The joint event at Garland Gentry's new "Classic Car Centre" (see Page 3 of this issue) was one of the best tech sessions and gatherings we have had, with bumper attendance, it reinforced my belief in the synergism of these interclub events.

We have two more joint events planned this year, plus, of course, our Concours. I urge you to come to the next joint event if you possibly can, the "Round the Bay" Mini-JONAT we are planning with the CJC for the weekend of May 4-6. The event will start at Abacus racing in Virginia Beach on Friday morning (yes, I know you will have to play hooky from work for a day), we will cross the Bay on the Bridge Tunnel, stopping in the wide spot for a photo shoot and lunch, then proceeding up the Eastern Shore to quaint Watchapreague, our Friday night goal. The next day we will drive up the eastern Shore into Maryland, visit the Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michael's and join the NCJOC folk for a dinner at Hemingways, a great seafood house on the water by the Bay Bridge. We will overnight in Annapolis, have the famous brunch at the Treaty of Paris Inn at Maryland House, explore historic Annapolis, then wend our way back down Route 301 to Richmond.

The CJC's Gerry Ellison expects about 6 cars from NC, so lets see if we can match that, we are a whole state closer than they are. Please contact me at davidmharrison2003@yahoo.com for more info. The next joint event will be a visit to VIR for their 50th anniversary. There will be vintage racing and a BBQ dinner with the CJC. Come for a day or stay Saturday night.

Prior to these events, come two events of our own. Please support Dr. Bill Massey's private guided tour of the Jamestown site, which is followed by a exclusive lunch, and the first VJC rally on April 22, organised by Ron Mitchell, which ends at the CVBCC show at the Williamsburg Winery.
